SNOW and LIGHTS after a day of craft fair and fun, and the Nighttime broadcast of the Parade December 6, 2008.

Parade Route   The Parade moved in a plus-sign shape around the Gazebo and ran for a bit over an hour. Parade started at A street and 2nd Avenue in front of the Cooper Regional History Museum, across from the MetroLink train station. Parade moved north on 2nd Avenue to the Gazebo and turned east on 9th street to the Grove Theatre at 9th and 3rd Avenue. From the Grove it turned around and headed west toward the Gazebo. When the parade turned north on 2nd Avenue parade participants were asked to be quiet for a bit, because the television recording was going on a few feet away. At the north end, the parade turned around on 2nd Avenue at C street and all parade participants again played and performed for the TV cameras that were in use for the southbound parade from C street to 9th street. The Parade turned west again at the Gazebo on 9th street, then turned around in a block to come back to the Gazebo. The final leg of the parade was to turn south at the Gazebo on 2nd Avenue and return to A street near the Cooper Museum.

LIGHTING FOR THE NIGHT PARADE:
The TV production was handled by Magnolia Street Productions, their website link is here www.magnoliastreet.com

Balloon Lights

For the night parade huge square helium balloon lights were used to show the route, light the cameras and show the hundreds of faces walking in the 32nd Annual Children's Christmas Parade. The same lights were used in
"MISSION IMPOSSIBLE"
"TRANSFORMERS 2"
"ZOHAN" and
"PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN 2"
See these special movie lights in action at this link www.lightingballoons.com/credits.htm

SPARK OF LOVE TOY DRIVE
For 16 years, ABC7 and firefighters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, along with the Los Angeles City Fire Department, have joined forces to run the "Spark of Love" Toy Drive. This campaign collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for the under served children in our communities. Toys collected in the respective counties are distributed locally. Last year alone, "Spark of Love" collected over 600,000 toys within all five counties and we want to top that total this year, so please help the firefighter's ignite a spark of love in a child's heart.
